**The Role**

This role is split between working at Heathrow Airport as a Transfer Team Member on key transfer days (Saturday fortnightly, Sunday fortnightly, and Monday weekly) and being a member of the College Mentor team onsite at an SBC College on non-airport days.

**Transfer Team Members** are the first and last point of contact for all students arriving and departing at Heathrow, and in some instances other London airports, and assisting them with their onward journey to their chosen SBC programme. This vital role involves ensuring the safe and welcoming meet and greet for students attending our courses, alongside the maintenance of meticulous communications with the wider Transfer Team and Head Office. The role requires strong communication and logístical skills, an eye for detail, the ability to thrive in busy and changing environments. Transfer Days involve long, intensive shifts, with food and hotel accommodation provided.

Outside of these key transfer days, the Transfer Team will be accommodated at an SBC College and play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional student experience as part of the **College Mentor Team**. They are actively involved in the pastoral care and supervision of students, as well as the planning and delivery of engaging activities and evening events. Serving as trusted points of contact, College Mentors support students throughout their course, guiding them through their summer experience while promoting and modeling the behaviours we expect from our students.

**_Remuneration_**: Paid weekly, one week in arrears. The weekly rate received for Transfer Team Member is £600 PLUS any accrued holiday to be paid at the end of contract)* Food and accommodation are included for all residential SBC staff.

**HOURS OF WORK**

A normal working week for Transfer Teams will consist of up to 55 hours per week.

Transfer Team Members will work the majority of their hours over the core transfer days; Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Transfer days will involve very early starts and late finishes. Often, you will travel to the airport the night before transfer day, in order to be ready to begin early in the morning. Transport and accommodation will be provided in these instances.

Outside of the core transfer days, you may be based at an SBC summer school where you may be asked to assist with ad hoc transfers, transfer day administrative preparation and other Summer School duties.

**Main Duties**:
Transfer Team duties:

- Be present at Heathrow Airport during all site transfer days and at other times when necessary.
- Meet and greet individual or groups of students on arrival at Heathrow airport.
- Ensure safe transition from the airport to welcome club or onward transfer vehicle
- Be a named person to meet and sign for students travelling on the Unaccompanied Minor (UM) service*
- Assist departing students with check-in and send-off.
- Maintain thorough communications with the Transfer Manager, updating them on all student collections, departures and handovers.
- Liaising with Transfer Managers and Head Office to identify and resolve issues
- Communicate with students, parents, guardians, airport staff, transport companies, and other members of the SBC Summer Schools times in a friendly and professional manner.
- Deal sensitively with situations that may arise.
- Carry out ad hoc transfers on non-transfer days to requested destinations, including London St Pancras, London Gatwick or other airports.
- Support the administrative preparation of transfer days as directed by the Transfer Manager.
- Attend transfer day briefings and ensuring full understanding of the transfer day requirements.
- Collect and submit receipts as directed by the Transfer Manager, supporting the SBC Finance Team with any further finance information they require.Provide feedback on your experiences during & also at the end of summer

College Programme Duties:

- Acquaint yourself with the SBC Social Programme session plans, risk assessments, resources and equipment during the induction period.
