**We have 2 permanent positions available for this role - 1 full time (40 hours), 1 part time (32 hours per week working Monday - Thursday) The role will have a main base of Viking Park however there will be a requirement to travel around the force area.

**What will I be doing?
**Operational training is both interesting and diverse - you’ll prepare, deliver, and evaluate courses across a full range of disciplines, including Personal Safety, First Aid, Public Order, Taser, Method of Entry and CBRN training.
- You’ll be designing the courses and lesson plans ensuring learning outcomes are met
- Evaluating operational competency against learning outcomes
- Undertaking environmental scanning and benchmarking of other learning organisations to ensure our learning methodologies meet required standards
- Managing and maintaining a safe training environment that meets health and safety guidelines
- Providing wraparound delegate support to address key developmental areas, through setting objectives, devising development plans, and ensuring delegate welfare
- Undertaking key administrative tasks

**You will be expected to successfully pass a College of Policing Personal Safety Trainers course within 12 months of appointment, and a Level 4 teaching qualification.**

**What skills will I need?**
- Excellent planning and organisation skills to run sessions effectively
- Strong team working skills
- The ability to communicate and adapt your style to a variety of stakeholders
- Flexibility, self motivation and enthusiasm

Although you will usually work within 'office hours’, you should be flexible with start and finish times and working location as required to meet operational requirements.

**Due to the operational nature of the role, you will also be expected to fit the following criteria**:
Fully fit - no medical conditions which would prevent outside working, working at heights, in confined spaces or working under pressure.

All applicants will be required to complete the Multi Stage Shuttle Run (bleep test) to Level of 6.3 prior to the selection process commencing.

In the interview you will be asked to do a presentation and practical teaching session, in addition to answering competency-based questions.

**Vetting level: Recruitment Vetting (RV)**
