Senior Furniture Retail Manger

We are looking for an experienced Senior Furniture Retail Manager to make their mark at our friendly charity furniture shop in Northfield, Birmingham. With retail management and merchandising experience, you will have the ability to get the best out of an amazing team, taking overall responsibility for the smooth running of a profitable charity shop in the heart of your local community.
This is a rounded role which requires an innovative, flexible and resilient leader with the ability to identify and execute opportunities to maximise sales and business growth. Using best charity retail practice, creative flair, and the ability to nurture and motivate, you will enable your team to create an inviting shop which encourages sales of donated stock and promotes excellent customer service.
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of your store, including the opening and closing of the shop, maintaining stock levels and managing a fleet of delivery vehicles. You will ensure finances are managed and record correctly, leading by example to ensure targets are met. You will be accountable for planning staff rotas, inductions, training, and managing your team of staff and volunteers. Together, you'll all represent Community Transport to a high standard and embody our core values, whilst making a difference to the lives of people in your local community.
- a NVQ level V or equivalent, in leadership and management or a willingness to work towards
- two years’ experience of retail sales in a pressurised performance-related environment
- experience of deploying and monitoring the performance of human, physical and ICT resources
- experience of developing customer relationships
- experience of premises management
- the ability to communicate effectively through a variety of media and methods
- a proven track record of working within a sales targeted environment
- knowledge and understanding of performance management and quality assurance systems
- the ability to resolve issues and make key decisions with the minimum supervision
- proficiency in using ICT systems including EPOS
- a commitment to continuous professional development
- motivation to create a safe, open and trusting environment
- flexibility to meet the needs of the business, including working on weekends
