Do you thrive in making a difference to the lives of young people? Do you have a passion to work with children with learning disabilities? We are looking for individuals to work within one of our Children's Homes in Oldham. Hours are flexible to meet the needs of the young people, and will include evenings and weekends. You may be wondering what "a day in the life of an RCW" might look like? Well typically, it starts like any other day, in any other household. You support the young person in getting up and starting their day ahead, whether that is in preparation for going to school or preparing for a fun - filled weekend. The young people are supported with learning and building on all aspects of their self-care and are encouraged to be as independent as possible by building on existing life skills, as well as introducing new ones. The young people are given freedom of choice in aspects of their lives, when and where possible, from what they would like for lunch to what activity they would like to participate in. On a daily basis, we support the young people in attending school, having contact visits with their families, transporting them to and from appointments and facilitating recreational activities. We also support our young people to go on annual holidays to different locations both in the UK and abroad. You will forge meaningful and positive relationships with the young people and their families and work closely with your team and all the other professionals involved in each young person’s life. You will work within the Therapeutic Model used within each home, and work alongside the company therapists to ensure each young person is able to thrive and make real change in their lives. As you can see, no two days are the same Of course, there will be challenging times that require a good team spirit and a dependence on caffeine after a long shift but seeing the smile on a young person's face after they have reached a milestone or achieved something important, is priceless So, if you are kind, resilient, and have a “can do” attitude, we want to hear from you Salary includes sleep ins (£40 per sleep) **You** - Must hold a current valid full driving licence. - Previous Residential Childcare experience is desirable (Not nursery/early years) - Experience of working with young people with a physical and/or learning disability - Possessing a Level 3 in Children's and Young People's Workforce is desirable. - Be able to work on a shift/Rota basis - Happy to undergo an enhanced DBS certificate upon appointment. **Benefits**: - Extensive Training and career progression - Access to Paycare and Employee Assistance Programme - Contributory Pension - Long Service Rewards Family Care Group provided the following inclusive hiring information: We are an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants equally without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, or disability status. **Salary**: £25,054.00-£28,096.00 per year **Benefits**: - Company pension - Cycle to work scheme - Employee discount - Private dental insurance - Private medical insurance - Sick pay - Wellness programme Schedule: - 12 hour shift - Weekend availability **Experience**: - Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred) Licence/Certification: - Driving Licence (required)
