Heavy Light Goods Vehicle Mechanic

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Streetscene Transport Team assisting with the maintenance of the Councils diverse vehicle fleet of HGV’s and LCV’s.
Experience and knowledge in the maintenance of diesel and petrol engines as well as heavy and light goods vehicles is essential together with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
The successful applicant will be required to work from our transport facilities at Eckington and occasionally at Doe Lea. There may be a requirement to work on occasional Saturdays which attracts an additional payment.
A category C driving licence is required and a Driver CPC qualification (or willingness to work towards) is preferred. Experience in the maintenance of municipal refuse collection vehicles, street cleansing vehicles and industrial grounds maintenance plant would be an advantage, however further training would be offered to applicants with a light goods vehicle experience.
