**Purpose of the role**:
To provide support to the Head of Financial and Regulatory Reporting in regulatory and technical accounting matters, including calculation, review and monitoring of consolidated and solo entity capital and liquidity requirements, preparation of technicalaccounting papers, involvement with implementation and monitoring of specific technical accounting areas and review of financial statements. The role includes responsibility for presenting to the Finance leadership team and key compliance committees on regulatorymatters. In addition, the role offers scope for involvement in controls-based work and process improvement projects, with potential opportunity to take on wider responsibilities in the Finance function depending on knowledge and experience.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare the monthly regulatory capital and liquidity calculations, quarterly FCA returns, regulatory capital forecasts and dividend proposals for the regulated sub-group.
- Review subsidiary regulatory capital calculations and regulatory returns, taking ownership for tracking compliance with all prudential regulatory filing deadlines.
- Proactively assess impacts of changes in regulation and the impact of changes in entity activities on regulatory capital, updating internal documentation as required.
- Co-lead and act as secretary for the Regulatory Compliance and Reporting Committee, presenting to the Finance leadership team and other stakeholders more widely on regulatory matters as required.
- Review subsidiary statutory accounts from a technical and regulatory perspective, ensuring compliance with relevant GAAP (IFRS or equivalent) and legal and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare technical accounting papers and papers for the ARCom and Board, liaising with the Group’s auditors on technical accounting matters as required.
- Engage with the Financial Accounting team to deliver training on regulatory capital and technical accounting topics.
- Support the wider Finance team in a review capacity, assisting with controls-based and project-related work as required.
- Liaise with other teams within Finance and Group Risk on an ongoing basis to ensure support and delivery of information to and from them in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
- Proactively assess processes and controls to realise efficiencies and improvements.

**Key Skills & Experience**:

- Accounting: ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification with at least 2-3 years’ post-qualified experience. Good knowledge of financial accounting, including technical accounting (to include IFRS). Experience working as an auditor or in a financial accounting or regulatoryteam for listed groups required.
- Regulatory: Working knowledge of the FCA MIFIDPRU and IPRU (INV) rulebooks would be advantageous.
- Core Competencies: A team player with a proactive and organised approach, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to follow complex issues through to their conclusion.
- Business: Experience or knowledge of the asset management industry would be advantageous.
- IT Skills: Must be computer literate with strong excel skills and have the ability to learn new systems. Knowledge of Workday Financials would be advantageous.
- Risk Awareness: Ability to understand financial risk and use it to influence decisions and critically appraise processes, escalating issues as appropriate.
