LGC’s Clinical Diagnostics Business Unit develops and manufactures a comprehensive portfolio of catalogue and custom-developed diagnostic quality solutions and component materials for the extended life sciences industry. We partner with IVD assay developers, and pharmaceutical, CRO and academic institutions in commercialization activities across the entire diagnostic pipeline - from concept and early stage research, through expedited product development and onwards into routine clinical use. Laboratorians and diagnostic professionals across disciplines of clinical chemistry, immunochemistry, serology, molecular diagnostics and clinical genomics rely on LGC’s products to support accurate and reliable diagnostic results.
Our operating entities include The Native Antigen Company, which is a manufacturer and supplier of antigens and antibodies, which are key components in vaccine research, and for the accurate diagnosis of a wide range of infectious diseases. Our customer base includes key Pharmaceutical and IVD companies, in addition to the academic sector and a wide range of Biotechnology companies. Alongside The Native Antigen Company, the Clinical Diagnostics Business Unit also includes SeraCare Life Sciences, Maine Standards Company and Technopath, which are _in vitro _diagnostics (IVD) manufacturers of quality measurement tools (calibrators, controls, linearity, EQA/PT, biological materials). Our 450+ employees operate an ISO 9001-accredited facility in Oxford, UK, and FDA-registered and ISO 13485-accredited facilities in Maine, Massachusetts and Maryland, USA, and Tipperary, Ireland.
The Native Antigen Company are now looking for a talented and enthusiastic Office Administrator to join the team and help drive us to further success.
- **Job Purpose**
***The role of the Office Administrator is to provide a range of administrative support across the business within the Operations department.
- **Key Responsibilities**
**Office management**
- Managing the reception area, including welcoming customers and guests
- Looking after guests on site, including attending to their food, drink and comfort needs
- Organising meetings, scheduling appointments and overseeing catering during company events
- Scheduling staff inductions and training
- Performing data entry roles, including updating records and databases for personnel, financial and legal information
- Looking after communal areas (coffee machine, dishwashers, water coolers)
- Ordering office and facility-related consumables (stationary, milk, hand soap etc)
- Support senior executives in booking company travel, accommodation, visas etc, and with other administrative tasks
- Coordinating office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies
- Emergency cover for other departments
***Facilities**
- Manage utilities and services accounts for the site, including but not limited to electricity, water, cleaners, waste contracts etc
- Arranging repair contractors when required
- Maintain contact list for all facilities providers and ensure any service/warranty contracts are reviewed and maintained
- Performing or arranging facility testing (legionnaires, fire call boxes, evacuations etc) to comply with legislation
- Other appropriate facility-related tasks
**Health and Safety**
- Aiding the site local health and safety representative
- Arranging training for first aiders, fire marshals, evac chairs etc to ensure the site is covered for H&S training needs
- Help monitor the general safety of the site

**Qualifications**
- Strong attention to detail, and high accuracy within administration tasks
- Ability to work independently and proactively to solve problems
- Confident, capable and professional appearance and approach when dealing with guests
- Experience using IT programs, primarily Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Desire to support other team members when required to help the overall business function
