Job description**
A talented**,**enthusiastic, passionate Chef is required to take over the Head Chef position of a long established, award winning and busy outside catering Company who specialise in weddings, large scale events throughout the Westcountry as wellas a conference and exhibition catering contractor.
The Head Chef will run the day-to-day operation of the kitchen. The Head Chef must be a hands on leader managing a small kitchen team of full-time staff and like-minded freelance chefs.
**Head Chef’s Duties**:

- To manage and motivate a small team and is aware of current and forward-thinking food trends/styles.
- To work under pressure and multitask.
- Divide responsibilities and monitoring progress.
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
- Familiar with health and safety procedures, related qualification preferred but not essential.
- Show a creative flare for food and passion.
- To be able to successfully carry out general stock ordering.
- Responsible for food costings through effective cost control procedures
- Ensure checks + procedures are in place to avoid cross-contamination of allergens/vegan/vegetarian food.
- Maintaining the council’s Food Hygiene requirements and ensure that they are implemented (e.g. temp control diary, risk assessment etc).
- Coordinating the cleaning of the kitchen, from deep cleans to daily cleans.

**Head Chef’s Skills & Experience**:

- Strong background experience in premium restaurant or outside catering
- This is an excellent opportunity for a senior sous chef looking to take the next step in their career
- Strong organisational skills, someone who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high energy and a passion for creating exceptional food
- Committed to your role within the Company, with attention to detail
- A desire to exceed expectations in your craft
- Food safety in work certificate preferred or must be willing to gain level 3 qualification
- Full UK Driving Licence is necessary.
