Newtown, United Kingdom Powys Teaching Health Board Full time

Powys County Council and Powys Teaching Health Board are working together to improve the health and social care experience of Powys residents with accessible, joined-up care and support nearer to home. In March 2018, we jointly approved our Health and Care Strategy which pledges to develop a new integrated model for the county, and together we have agreed that an initial focus for this work will be in North Powys.

Work is now underway to develop a new way of providing services, improving health & wellbeing and reducing inequalities through an innovative state of the art Rural Regional Centre and Community Well-being Hub for North Powys.

Do you want a new challenge? Are you organised, tenacious, and have experience of working in a project environment? Do you want to help shape and drive forward this transformational programme that will change the way health and care is delivered in North Powys?

We are looking to appoint a Project Support Officer to work on this Programme. The programme will design and deliver a new integrated model which will include a potential capital development in Newtown for the North Powys population. The programme is a way for public and third sector partners in Powys to shift focus away from traditional means of service delivery to ’what matters’ to the person. In doing so we will help people to Start Well, Live Well and Age Well, as described in our Health and Care Strategy for Powys.

In this role you will become a pivotal member of the programme team and will help develop project documentation, business cases, stakeholder engagement material and Board-level reports and presentations. You will also ensure reporting requirements are co-ordinated and meet the needs of the project and that updates to multiple detailed plans are managed effectively. To do this you will be good at managing your time and planning against deadlines, be approachable and have a keen eye for detail.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Programme Lead, Work Stream Leads and Programme Manager to deliver the objectives of the project, working with a wide range of stakeholders across Powys.

To do all this, we are looking for someone with a “can do” attitude, who is able to work with a wide range of people. There are considerable developmental opportunities associated with this post and regular contact with senior managers, Executive Directors and stakeholders. This is a demanding role, but you will be supported by a committed and experienced team.

We are hugely excited about getting the North Powys Wellbeing Programme established and would love to have a chat with you about the skills, experience and knowledge you could bring to the team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Powys is cited as being a wonderful place to live and work; a rural health setting where you can personally and professionally grow, where patients are at the heart of care provision. If you are an ambitious professional in search of job satisfaction, Powys is the place to be. Whatever your career aspirations, we are committed to supporting and developing you.

Powys Teaching Health Board is responsible for meeting the health and wellbeing needs of the population of Powys.
