**Full Job Description**

Your responsibilities and primary role of the position is a customer facing, front-of house role where you will be working on the Medicines Counter, serving customers and providing healthcare advice/treatment recommendations to them.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Helping support the team to ensure excellent customer service is maintained and rapport is built with patients
- Providing medicines-related and healthy lifestyle advice to patients and to select and recommend suitable products, providing advice on their correct use
- Work with the team to ensure that the Pharmacy maintains its compliance and contract objectives e.g. date checking and Pharmacy Quality Scheme etc.
- To assist with stock control and the maintenance of reasonable stock levels within the retail environment and to ensure the safe and appropriate storage of medicines.
- To liaise with other healthcare professionals to assist in the continuity of patient care across primary and secondary care.
- Prescriptions - Collection of prescription from patients and handing out pre dispensed prescriptions ensuring you are taking correct charges/checking patient exemption statements
- Cash handling
- Cleaning work surfaces and shelving on a regular basis and ensuring that that all dispensary equipment is kept clean and kept in good working order.
- Undertaking other reasonable duties within the framework of the post as directed by the supervising pharmacist.

**Essential experience**:

- Good knowledge of over the counter medicines
- Precision - you need to be able to hand out medication to patients quickly and efficiently
- Maintaining the shop floor and arranging shelves as necessary
- Managing your own OTC stock
- Medicines counter assistant qualification (1 year +)

**Job Type -**

One full time position (9:30-5:30) **OR** two part time positions (9-2 + 2-6)

Occasional Saturday 9-1 may be required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

**Salary**: £9.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Birmingham, B30 2AA: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
