**Salary**: £30,000 - £40,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

**Job Introduction**:
You will be responsible for mixing programmes in a variety of environments, including radio studios and outside broadcasts. This will encompass a wide range of output, such as general programmes, sports coverage, events, and more. You’ll work across several network radio outlets, with a specific focus on Radio Wales and Radio Cymru. In addition, you’ll support Senior Technical Producers on specialised audio projects.
Your role will require expertise in connectivity and communications, particularly in managing outside broadcasts, even in the most complex of situations. As an Audio Supervisor, you'll take responsibility working within the studio and ensure that the audio quality of the programme meets both the production’s objectives and the BBC's technical standards.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Supervising and motivating other members of the team, sometimes in stressful situations and environments.
- Must be able to read and understand music score.
- Keeping abreast of developments in technology and workflow.
- Ability to listen critically and identify, then rectify problems with sound quality.
- Proven experience balancing sound for a variety of programmes including news, sport and general programmes.
- Working to deadlines.
- Experience of audio editing to the highest of standards.
- A thorough awareness of relevant Health & Safety guidelines, procedures, and responsibilities.
- An awareness of the diverse nature of our audiences and a commitment to diversity in the workplace.
- Responsible for the sound content of the programme and the communications required for the production.
- Maintain continuity of the sound output. Undertake fault diagnosis, first line maintenance, management of faulty equipment and ensure the correct procedure for repairs with the Technology department.
- Responsible for guidance and sharing knowledge with others in the team and other departments.
- Work to and uphold BBC Values.
- Current driving licence.
- Good operational knowledge of sophisticated sound equipment and recent developments in programme making methods.
- Excellent aural judgement and a proven ability to prioritise in demanding situations.
- Understanding of the theory and use of operational equipment, and ability to undertake basic front-line maintenance on this equipment when necessary.
- Ability to successfully lead small teams, combining leadership with tact.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and an ability to operate to and communicate safe working practices in the workplace.
