Play Barn Assistant

Craft Nurseries Ltd / Play Barn is a small business in Lawford, CO11 2LS.

We are looking to recruit an Assistant for our indoor soft-play here at the Play Barn, to work *Saturdays 09:00-17:30/18:00 and staff holiday / illness cover when extra hours are available.

You will be responsible for front of house duties like entries, using the till and coffee machine, serving other hot drinks and cold drinks, cleaning and serving cakes and food.

You will also be working in the kitchen serving our full hot and cold lunch menu, which will include using the panini grill, prepping plates, pre
- service food prep, cleaning, stock check and ordering.

We also have a strict and extensive cleaning regime in place, to keep our venue COVID-Safe. You will need to be willing and able to help us maintain this high standard throughout the play-frames, seating areas, behind the counter, kitchen and toilets.

We are looking for a hardworking individual with excellent customer service skills, friendly demeanour and able to work in an environment that can fluctuate between quiet and busy. We are a child focused venue, so a good rapport with children and desire to be in a noisy and playful environment is a must.

A strong work ethic is essential - we are a small but mighty team who take pride in our work whilst keeping a friendly smile on our faces

You should be both a good team-player and able to work independently, be flexible when possible to help with things like private hire parties or to cover a colleague, and be comfortable on your feet for long periods of time.

*Must be 18+ to work 9hrs on a Sat and also be able to work more than 4hrs on Sundays if needed for ad hoc cover.

Prior experience is desirable but not essential, full training will be provided plus the opportunity to gain a Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate. We also offer First Aid Training (Paediatric Focused) certificate every 3 years.

We would however prefer an individual that has been in paid employment for at least 1 year.

Part-time hours: 8.5 per week

**Salary**: £7.20-£9.50 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
It is no longer mandatory to wear face coverings for customers or staff, but if preferred, we welcome individuals to wear one as their own choice. We use deep-clean high-blast sanitiser to keep the venue covid-free.

- Manningtree CO11 2LS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
