Milk Education are working in partnership with an Alternative Provision in Lewisham that require two Youth Workers to work with the pupils at their school that are at a high risk of offending, or that already have. Your role at this school will be to educate the young people, and hopefully steer the young people away from gang involvement and drugs, as well as support them with their education, which includes courses on construction and animal care. Any applicants must be comfortable being around farm animals.

**Youth Worker roles and responsibilities**:

- Provide pastoral support to pupils.
- Educate pupils on the disadvantages of joining gains, and hopefully steer them away form this
- Work closely with family and local authority to safeguard the pupils from being groomed.

**Requirements for the Youth Worker**
- Working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation within education and youth justice
- Working knowledge of national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes.
- Ability to plan effective actions for pupils at risk of offending
- Full understanding of the range of support services/providers that are available.
