Trainee Export Operations Clerk

An established Freight Forwarder based near Heathrow are looking to recruit a Trainee Export Operations Clerk.
As a trainee, you will be trained in all aspects of freight forwarding, learning to handle shipment movements from start to finish and will provide support and assistance to the operations team in our office at Heathrow airport
General Operational Duties
Maintain day to day operational workload.
**Prepare, handle, and process documentation including**:
Reference shipment, progress order, arrange pick up/delivery, select and book carrier, negotiate rate and schedule, consolidate, update client.
Track & trace cargo, update GCL web tracking
Liaise with airlines, partner agents & other parties to ensure information is up to date and correct.
Arrange collections, deliveries and releases with haulers, agents, and other parties
Complete customs entries using software systems
Attend warehouse for Labelling/inspection of cargo etc.
Update Post flight / Proof of Delivery information
Scan shipment documents to file location
Accurate and timely client billing
At the beginning of this placement, you will be working within the warehouse department to help and you will also need a driving license as some driving duties will be included. You will then get trained in the office.
Monday - Friday
08:30 - 17:30
Salary - up to GBP18k depending on experience.
