Senior Lawyer (Data Privacy)
A **top tier Legal 500 firm** with an outstanding reputation is currently seeking an exceptional **Data Privacy Lawyer** to join them. The successful Data Privacy Lawyer will head up the firm's existing data privacy practice area. This role will be based in **Peterborough.**
This is a hugely exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking for the **next in their career**
A key part of the role will be to **create and deliver new work** for the team. You will have excellent business development skills to market the firm's existing capability in this area and grow their client base.

The team provides a comprehensive data privacy service including advising on:

- Privacy Notices
- Data protection impact assessments and legitimate interests assessments
- Commercial contracts (including data processing agreements and binding corporate rules)
- Policies (including data protection policies, CCTV policies and data retention policies)
- Websites and marketing materials (including cookie notices, layered notices/consent and terms and conditions).
- International data transfers, both within and outside the EU (including the use of the European Commission's approved Model Contract Clauses and binding corporate rules)
- Data sharing (including outsourcing arrangements)
- Marketing to individuals (including electronic marketing and e-privacy)
- The strategy for handling queries and investigations by the Information Commissioner's Office
- Bespoke advice to clients on privacy aspects of ongoing matters, whether contentious or non-contentious
- Breach management and data security
- Dealing with individual rights including;
- Subject Access Requests
- Rights of erasure
- Civil claims based on breach of privacy rights

The firm's data privacy work is currently being carried out by existing solicitors in the Commercial and Employment teams, but there are big aspirations to **grow this practice area.**
