**About The Role**
We’re on an exciting journey to transform the way our customers make and receive payments and are looking for a Senior Analyst to help us meet our goals. You’ll be core to our desire to ensure payments are reliable, safe, secure and resilient.
Working in the Payments Change & Governance team you’ll be part a small team working on a broad range of activities that will both maintain the excellent service that we are known for and evolve our payments capabilities.
You will undertake analysis of impending legislative, regulatory and scheme changes and recommend appropriate business solutions.
You’ll conduct investigative work to assess which services are most appropriate and will deliver the best outcomes.
You’ll specify and test management information reports to monitor the use of new and existing payment services.
You’ll undertake work to support the management of third-party suppliers; for example, by helping to set budgets, check invoices and participate in meetings.
You will support the business incident response team with incidents that affect payment services, for example by providing analysis of the impact of the incident. This may require you to participate in an out-of-hours support rota.
Whilst most of the role will focus on delivering process improvements and change, the role will also involve working with the team’s Payments Risk & Compliance Manager to maintain a robust risk & controls framework.
You’ll help prepare annual risk assessments, compliance statements and reports to the Society’s regulators and card schemes (LINK & Visa).
You’ll support the on-going management of payment processing risks and controls.
The role provides the opportunity to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business as well as third party suppliers to help ensure customer and value-based outcomes are delivered.
**About You**
You will have a strong background in business analysis, preferably in financial services or another regulated industry.
You will have experience of working on projects as an analyst. This includes understanding requirements and documenting processes, liaising with developers, and supporting testing and software deployment.

Awareness of payment industry initiatives such as Confirmation of Payee, Open Banking, RTGS renewal and the New Payments Architecture (NPA).
Confidence when querying, working with, and analysing data, for example to help build business cases for new propositions or to identify opportunities for improving customer experiences. This could include having experience of writing SQL statements and manipulatingdata in Excel.
Experience of conveying information to stakeholders in a confident and articulate manner, for example writing and presenting papers for senior colleagues.
Awareness of underlying digital and communication technologies including information security.
All your skills, combined with your approach to work, will make you a positive role model for the people around you. Your professional, flexible and enthusiastic attitude will mean our core values will shine through you.
We have a hybrid approach to where we work - you’ll spend some time in the office and some time working from home depending on what needs to be done and where you can do it best.
