We are looking to appoint a full time, well-organised and motivated person to join the Manchester Fertility Laboratory team. The role would suit either a HCPC registered Clinical Andrologist or a person with at least 2 years’ experience working in an Andrology Laboratory. You will contribute to the day to day running of the Andrology laboratory by performing diagnostic semen analysis and cryopreservation, surgical sperm retrieval, donor sperm bookings, audit, data collection and other administrative tasks. The post is full-time,

**Key Responsibilities**
- To work under the supervision of the Head of Laboratory/Andrology Services Manager
- Diagnostic semen analysis and semen freezing
- Surgical sperm retrieval
- Perform donor sperm bookings and assist in the provision of a donor sperm bank service to patients
- Co-ordination of transports between UK and overseas clinics
- Importation of donor sperm from overseas donor banks
- Participation in EQA and IQA and other laboratory validation
- Audit and maintenance of storage vessels
- Obtain informed consent for treatment, cryopreservation and donation
- Assist with Andrology Document Control
- Maintain accurate laboratory and patient records using MedITEX database
- Contribute to laboratory functions including equipment monitoring and maintenance, quality assurance, auditing, ordering and acquisition of equipment and stock, traceability, data input and record keeping
- Participation in Performance Management Process
- Participate in the weekend rota as required

**SKILLS**:

- 2 years’ experience working in an ART laboratory is preferable
- Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Computer literacy, good knowledge of Word/Excel
- Excellent organisational and timekeeping skills
- Ability to prioritise own workload on a daily basis using initiative
- Ability to communicate with the team
- Flexible and conscientious to become multi-skilled
- Excellent communication and team working skills
- Ability to deliver the highest standard of patient care/service

**GENERAL BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS**:
- A Life Sciences degree and preferably 2 years’ experience working in an ART laboratory
