**Responsibilities**:
In order to deliver ‘A Cut Above’ product range and drive sales, the Merchandiser is responsible for the analysis of merchandising reports and sales/stock statistics to drive recommendations and actions to ensure that future sales trends are predicted, and we are pro-actively ranging stores based on data to maximise sales. The role will be mainly office based but may sometimes need to travel to our stores or attend relevant supplier meetings and conferences.

**Job post: Permanent: Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week) 09.00 - 17.30 & Office-based**

**Responsibilities**:

- Supply reviews of supplier performance and compile best seller reports, analysing every aspect of best sellers (for example; price point, colour and style) and ensuring that best sellers reach their full potential. Conversely, monitoring slow sellers and taking action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary
- Manage and predict future sales trends, ranging stores as required to maximise sales, presenting sales forecast for new ranges being recommended by analysing previous seasons sale and reporting on current seasons lines
- Plan product range and prepare sales and stock plans in conjunction with buyers while controlling stock levels based on forecasts for the season alongside managing the stock allocation procedure to ensure that the right stock is available to the right store at the right time (through communication with Stockroom Manager, Regional Team and Marketing Team)
- Review store monthly sales reports and key performance indicators, analyse information taking appropriate action where necessary such as production of space plans and store layout to maximise profitability of each store
- Develop, implement and control the OTB and ensure that accurate sales, stock and profit margin forecasts are set and achieved
- Plan implement and manage distribution of stock and monitoring of supplier stock delivery schedules, maintain adequate levels for replenishment to stores and react to delays
- Formulate sales stock and margin objectives in line with Buying plans and the Company Business Plan
- Work with the Buying team to develop a strategy to maximise performance of business in line with the company objectives
- Participate in buying and merchandising range reviews, agree store ranging based on feedback from the stores and analysis of sales
- Make recommendations for promotional activities to clear old stock, minimising loss of margin and generating maximum sales, manage ‘old gold’ ensuring action is taken to achieve highest return
- Liaise with brand representatives, build relationships and actively seek new opportunities to secure new accounts
- Accompany buyers on trade show visits or attend and take minutes of meetings with supplier

**Essential Skills, Competencies & Experience Required**
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a Merchandiser/Merchandising Manager role
- Experience of Merchandising within a Retail business
- Strong in reporting and analysis
- You will be a self-starter with a “can-do” approach when tackling new challenges.
- You are forward-thinking and proactive.
- You have a willingness to learn.
