**Health & Safety Specialist**

**£40,000-£45,000 + £5000 Car Allowance, Pension & Benefits**

**Hybrid, based in easily commutable distance to Reading with occasional UK Travel required.**

Reporting into the Health and Safety Manager this is an exceptional opportunity for an individual who is either qualified or working towards**H&S NEBOSH NVQ 4**with experience in **H&S property management (retail, residential, industrial or offices)** and an understanding of the key risks and the implications this can bring to meeting statutory compliance with an **ISO Management Standard.**

This is very much a **strategic role** which requires consistent reporting and communication through to the executive committee by a team player, who will deliver results by managing and developing strong and positive relationships with a widevariety of internal and external stakeholders.

**Key responsibilities -**
- Draft and review H&S procedures, that meet existing ISO 45001 accreditation and that dictates the statutory management and governance of the Portfolio.
- To support the Health & Safety Manager to continuously improve the standards and practices across the Portfolio whilst maintaining ISO 45001 accreditation.
- Reviewing the online health and safety management system platforms to ensure legal compliance and that it reflects ongoing business needs.
- Supporting the wider team in the development and delivery of the strategy, identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of the health and safety function internally and externally.
- Visibly foster and support the development of a positive health and safety culture.
- Where necessary undertake further investigations into significant incidents to establish precise details and root causes.
- Checking a range of risk assessments and KPI’s across the portfolio and ensure these are appropriately reviewed
- DSE Assessor for Head Office locations

**Education/ Qualification** -- Qualified H&S (NEBOSH NVQ 4 in OSH or equivalent) professional with proven experience
- Logical and strategic approach when managing H&S and passionate about wanting to make a difference
- Good organisation skills - planning, time management
- The ability to communicate with confidence and credibility - personable, ability to present data and explain issues to allow understanding
- Excellent IT skills
- Work within deadlines under pressure to succeed
- Based in Reading but to hold a full driving licence as will be required to travel throughout portfolio as required

**Experience**
- Knowledge of ISO Management System **ISO 45001** and its advantages.
- Demonstrable experience in H&S property management (retail, residential, industrial and offices) with understanding of the key risks and the implications this can bring to meeting statutory compliance
- Team player, who will deliver results by managing and developing strong and positive relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Flexibility with travel - this role requires regular visits to the assets and Head offices.
