An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Clerk to join a well-founded and established business based in Southampton.
The Accounts Clerk will perform a range of clerical and accounting duties, supporting the Financial Controller and Assistant Accountant with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
**Main duties of the Accounts Clerk**:
- Complete administrative duties to support the Accounts Team
- Register, scan, and process invoices across the business
- Complete accounts reconciliation and manage outstanding payments and receipts
- Purchase Ledger payment run and closedown
- Raising payments via cheques and IATs, posting them to the appropriate ledgers
- Processing transactions from the bank statement on to the relevant ledgers and reconciling the closing balance accordingly
**Key competences of the Accounts Clerk**:
- Previous experience in accounting preferred
- Highly numerate and conscientious
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and maintain good, accurate quality of work
- Able to plan, organise self and meet agreed work deadlines
- PC, Microsoft, web literate
The role of Accounts Clerk is a permanent and full-time opportunity and offers an annual salary up to £25,000 dependant on experience alongside many benefits, including 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, free parking, health shield and social events.
