**Good Egg Medical **team is currently recruiting for experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers to join the team.

Good egg medical is a diagnostic healthcare business delivering care to patients in their own homes.

Job Title:
Health Care Assistant (HCA) Level 2

Job Overview:
(Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be required)

The post holder will need to work independent under the guidance of the clinical lead and the operations manager.

The HCA will be involved primarily in:

- Assisting in the provision of a phlebotomy service
- The management of laboratory samples for the Practice
- Undertaking well person checks
- Urinalysis
- ECG recording
- Chaperoning customers
- Cleaning and sterilising instruments and equipment
- Maintenance of equipment, including keeping records of when external checks are due, e.g. calibration
- The daily recording of refrigerator temperatures
- Ordering of stock and re-stocking office and bags

The HCA will also be responsible for:

- Documenting customer consultations in the clinical system
- Maintaining appropriate records to ensure continuity and quality of care for customers
- Involvement in Practice development, identifying service changes and in line with clinical needs locally
- Maintaining records of appointments, financial transactions and other administrative duties
- Maintaining skills at the current level and undertaking such training and development as required to maintain personal competency
- Participation in all activities required by CQC registration

**Location**:
Good Egg Medical and travel to customers' houses, office, hotels or any other place requested by the customer providing the place is suitable for the consultations

**You will need to be able to use your own car milage will be reimbursed**

**Responsibilities and Duties of the Job**

Role Specific Duties:

- To act in such a manner as to support customers at all times and be mindful of the need to reduce anxiety for customers
- To provide, a phlebotomy (blood sampling) service for customers
- Be responsible for processing and management of laboratory samples requested by clinicians with specific responsibility to ensure that the samples are correctly labelled, sent to the laboratory promptly and that data is entered onto the customer's notes
- Be responsible for the correct maintenance and cleaning of equipment
- Be responsible for restocking of all clinical areas and maintaining a stock rotation system
- To maintain an adequate amount of clinical supplies and health promotion materials as agreed with the clinical team
- To obtain, process and/or use information in line with the GDPR requirements
- To attend relevant meetings as required
- To immediately report any safeguarding or compliance concerns

Working with Others:

- To assist in general nursing duties, i.e. urine testing, weight/height, blood pressure measurements, Pulse oximeter, ECG recording, phlebotomy
- To act as a chaperone as requested by clinicians or as requested by the client
- To function as an integral part of the Good Egg Medical team

Leading by Example:

- To participate in the induction programme of staff new joining Good Egg Medical
- Participate in developing the philosophy, goals and objectives for health care provided by Good Egg Medical
- Participate in customer audits
- Ensure that customers rights are protected

Personal Responsibilities:

- To have knowledge of and act at all times within the boundaries of Health and Safety legislation, Data Protection Acts and Care Quality Commission compliance requirements
- Provide information for a DBS check, and inform the Practice of any incident that may change the DBS status
- Be responsible for your own Health & Safety

- Promote and participate in a high standard of care within Good Egg Medical
- Participate in taking care of your own Health & Safety. Ensure that you do not do anything to compromise the health and safety of either your colleagues or yourself
- Give agreed notice of periods of absence and leave
- Attend Practice meetings as required
