These are community posts based in East Kent and involve working with adult stroke survivors as part of the Kent Clinical Neuropsychology Service.At the beginning of your personal statement, in no more than 250 words, please describe why you would like to work in community stroke neurorehabilitation. We have an exciting opportunity for two Assistant Psychologists with proven interest in neuropsychology to join our Neuropsychology Service. The post involves working with adults who have experienced a stroke and live in East Kent.

The posts would suit those interested in developing their skills in clinical neuropsychological assessment, neuro-rehabilitation and therapeutic approaches with stroke survivors, their family members and carers.

The clinical work is undertaken mostly in clinic settings and online, with the possibility of home visits and travel to care homes. The post holder will work closely under the supervision of a principal clinical psychologist to deliver high quality and responsive services within East Kent.

Under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, the job is focused on the neuropsychological assessment, formulation and development of bespoke neuropsychological interventions for people referred (and their families or carers), who have experienced a stroke across East Kent

You will also work alongside multidisciplinary teams in order to contribute to a psychological perspective where appropriate.

- Under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist, to provide specialist psychological assessment of stroke survivors and their families referred to the Clinical Neuropsychology Service.
- To implement plans of specialist psychological treatment following stroke as formulated by a qualified Clinical Psychologist
- To deliver psychological and therapeutic interventions autonomously to stroke survivors and their families
- Under the guidance of a qualified Clinical Psychologist, to provide a specialist psychological perspective to multi-disciplinary teams when working with stroke survivors and their families
- Under the guidance of a qualified Clinical Psychologist, to consult with and provide specialist psychological guidance to carers and families of stroke survivors
- To use initiative and act independently within guidelines, knowing when to refer to a qualified psychologist for clinical decisions and guidance.
