We wish to recruit an experienced, responsible and dedicated **Housekeeper** to join our established Housekeeping Team.

The hours of work are typically 8.30am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, all year round. Extra hours are available at other times.

**Main Responsibilities**

**Cleaning**

To ensure student’s rooms and public areas are cleaned and tidied on a daily basis, including, but not limited to:

- Make beds daily
- Change beds and put on clean linen weekly
- Dust and polish surfaces
- Empty and clean bins
- Vacuum

To ensure public areas of the boarding house are clean and tidy on a daily basis, including, but not limited to:

- Dust and polish surfaces
- Mop floors
- Vacuum

To ensure bathrooms, showers and toilets are cleaned on a daily basis.

To carry out periodic cleaning as directed by Matron.

To report any jobs in the job book in the main office.

**House Matron**

To ensure students have clean uniforms.

To wash and iron all student’s clothes.

To ensure all student’s clothing is named.

To carry out any small sewing / repair to student’s clothes.

To make regular checks of the bedrooms and report any faults found.

**Pastoral**

Close liaison with the houseparent(s) and deputy.

Monitoring the maintenance issues in the house, ensuring they are reported and keeping a check on what has been attended to.

Reporting any issues to the houseparents, such as evidence of self-harming, smoking in the bedrooms and any general misbehaviour.

Being a presence in the house throughout the day so students can approach if they have any problems but also have the authority to approach students who are misbehaving, or still in bed, or should generally not be in the house.

Being the responsible person in the house between 8.30am - 9.00am and 4.30pm - 5.30pm which would involve checking students are working as directed and addressing any issues or problems. This would also involve being the person the students can come to if they have any problems during that time.

Carrying the house phone to take messages from parents and students.

Working as directed outside of term time to ensure the house is in order for the students' return.

**All staff**

To be friendly and helpful and to promote the interests of the School.

To be aware of all health and safety rules including health and safety at work, COSHH, fire and child protection.

To attend all training courses as required.

To undertake any additional, reasonable, duties as requested by the Matron or Director of Operations.

This is not an exhaustive list, and will vary as the School’s requirements change.

Pay: £11.74 per hour
