We are a leading lifestyle brand specialises in home & garden and currently we are recruiting for the role of Assistant Buyer to join our business.

**Responsibilities**:

- Building Relationships: Establish and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrate a strong understanding of commercial principles, including cost negotiation, budgeting, and value analysis.
- Organisation and Planning: Prioritise workloads effectively, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and solve procurement challenges independently, whilst seeking guidance when necessary.
- Integrity: Conduct all business dealings with honesty and transparency.

**Technical Competencies**:

- Negotiate competitive pricing and terms with suppliers.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders following company policy.
- Track and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities throughout the procurement process.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and new product developments within the interior fit-out industry.
- Overseas Buying Trips.
- Proficient in Word/Excel/Powerpoint

**Person Specification**
- Relevant experience as a Buyer in the Homeware Industry
- Strong understanding of procurement principles and best practices.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Experience in using procurement software systems.
- A meticulous and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A valid UK driving licence (essential).
