**This role entails**

The multi-award-winning ITV News Central is looking for an experienced journalist to join its team of Content Editors. This role is ideally suited for someone looking to take their first step into management.

You will either be a qualified journalist, to NCTJ level or equivalent, or have a real depth of experience gained by working within a multi-media news operation. You will be able to demonstrate your skills in creative journalism, editorially and visually, to make our news content engaging and relevant to our audience online and on air.

With your thorough knowledge of legal, Ofcom compliance and Health and Safety guidelines and your excellent editorial judgement, you will be able to make informed decisions confidently and to tight deadlines.

**To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills**:
**Minimum role criteria**:
Proven experience of producing or planning impactful, high-quality & distinctive News content to deadlines and under pressure.
- A strong knowledge of media law & compliance and the ability to exercise excellent editorial judgement.
- Experience of successfully leading projects.
- An understanding of the importance of Diversity & Inclusion in our region.

- A passion for Regional News
- Experience of using Social Media as a promotional tool
- A good knowledge of the ITV News Central region
