**About the Opportunity**
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a security vetting assistance to provide support to the Westlakes Security team working on the Jacobs Lot 2 PPP framework/projects as a member of the Security team.
The role is based in our Westlakes office (Whitehaven, Cumbria) and will be office-based minimum of 4 days per week.
**Key responsibilities**
- Preparing renewals - identifying staff/individuals who require renewals from the database, issuing forms and following up to ensure timely renewals.
- Performing progress monitoring, ensuring the relevant records are accurately updated.
- Checking progress and monitoring forms are returned to the required deadlines. Follow up calls to staff/individuals where required.
- Attending regular security team meetings.
- Assisting with GDPR compliance checks on the data held.
- Doing compliance checking, assisting the team to run regular checks to ensure that all staff/individuals working on the projects are correctly cleared.
- Drafting security notices and issuing them.
- Assisting the security team with other ad hoc security tasks e.g., organising training, requesting IT accounts.
- Liaising with the wider support team on PPP framework e,g. Resourcing, Jacobs in-house security team.
- Providing absence cover for other security team members.
**Ad Hoc Responsibilities**
Assistance maybe required in the following areas:
- Project security support (wider Jacobs business).
- Other administrative duties assigned by Management.
**Here’s what you’ll need**:
- Previous experience from a similar security vetting role would be beneficial, however on the job in-house training shall be provided.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, proficient in Excel.
- Excellent attention to details and an ability to cope with changing deadlines, whilst remaining calm under pressure.
- Perform tasks with honesty and discretion. The role involves handling sensitive personal data and it is an essential requirement that this information is not divulged.
- Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Display an engaging, enthusiastic, and confident manner with an interest in supporting the work we do.
- A team player, who is keen to learn and develop their skills.
