Menzies Distribution are looking for a Trainee Transport Planner to join our team, providing a first class service at our Planning Centre in Wakefield.

The Role:
Your main responsibility will be providing general administrative and logístical support for the overall efficient running of the Planning Centre, supplying key information and support to the management team and liaising with all depots planned out of it.Reporting into the Lead planners, you will be responsible for supporting the team with administration and general duties, sub-contraction confirmations, system reporting and general exposure to the Planning Centre with a view to eventually progress to therole of Transport Planner.

- A salary of £23k per annum

Trainee Transport Planner Duties:

- Maintain the integrity of the TMS system and assisting the team with planning as close to ‘live’ as possible.
- Manage the administration and distribution of work in one of the key contracts within the planning Centre
- Collect data on performance indicators and provide timely reports to Management.
- Participate in regional Subcontractor Coordinator conference calls and share ideas for continual improvement.
- Morrison’s daily schedule upload to the TMS System
- Any Planning Centre related Administration
- Working closely with the other members of the Team in order to fully understand Customer requirements and expectations.
- Dealing with customer enquiries
- Data inputting
- Support with any other “ad hoc” administrative tasks
- Provide timely, quality and accurate management information, (Daily/Weekly/Monthly)

Planning Centre Administrator Requirements:

- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Particularly words processing and spreadsheet skills
- Customer service’ oriented
- Good Written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work under pressure
