This role requires a strong presence, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills, as the guard will be responsible not only for general loss prevention and safety tasks but also for providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all customers.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Security Duties**:

- Monitor store premises via patrols, CCTV, and in-person observation to deter theft, vandalism, and other unlawful activity.
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to incidents, alarms, or disturbances.
- Identify potential security risks or breaches and report them to store management.
- Assist in detaining and reporting individuals suspected of theft or disruptive behaviour, in accordance with legal and store protocols.
- Coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations.

**Customer Service Duties**:

- Greet all customers entering or exiting the store in a friendly, professional manner.
- Act as a visible deterrent while maintaining a courteous demeanour.
- Provide directions or assistance to customers as needed.
- De-escalate tense situations calmly and respectfully.
- Support a welcoming and safe shopping environment for both customers and staff.

**Requirements**:

- Valid SIA license (or local security certification).
- Previous experience in retail or security preferred.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanour.
- Must supply own uniform.
- **Work Schedule**:

- Rota pattern including weekends.

**Job Type**: Part-time
