The Compliance Manager undertakes key projects and initiatives to ensure the business operates an effective quality and food safe culture; this includes independently auditing and inspecting the site process and controls**,**managing co-manufacturers, third party auditing and management of suppliers. Management of export processes to ensure a smooth transition of stock to our oversea customers.

**The Role - Compliance Manager**:

- Complete specified technical projects for the business, i.e. MIM outsourcing, allergen risk assessment for free from project.
- Ensure site standards are developed to fulfil BRC requirements or other customer schemes.
- Liaise with Trading standards and EHO as per requirements and facilitate any annual audits/visits.
- Provide technical regulatory guidance to support the NPD Marketing and Commercial teams to ensure compliance is maintained and conversant with artwork legal expectations i.e. what can be declared on pack across a range of markets.
- Be the customer interface for own label initiatives and manage these launches.
- Champion and lead raw material and supplier approval for the business - this will include some oversea travel.
- Overall management of the Quality Management System ensuring the QMS is kept updated as per changes in regulations & BRC; champion the internal audit program.
- To ensure an effective traceability system (forward and backward) is maintained, liaising with the Factory Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager.
- Prepare site and conduct annual BRC audit and achieve Grade A or above;
- Undertake supplier and co-manufacturer audits; carry out quarterly review meetings with co-manufacturers
- Be the technical lead for CI initiatives and work closely with CI Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in food technology is preferred or degree in a related science area with work experience in quality.
- HACCP Level 4 desirable but must have HACCP Level 3 as minimum.
- Advanced Food Safety is essential
- Lead Auditing qualification with experience
- Strong technical background and proven experience within the Food Industry.
- Exposure to leading and supervising a small team;
- Experience of working in a chilled food manufacturing environment;
- A strong understanding or BRC, FSSC Trading Standards and EHO.
- Working knowledge of modern quality standards and continuous improvement techniques, such as ISO 9000 or Six Sigma would be advantageous.
- Proactive and assertive, be capable of making sound judgments and decisions;
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of MS office, excel & SAP;
