**Job description**
We are looking for a crew member to join our team at our two Hertfordshire marinas - Cowroast and Apsley - located on the Grand Union Canal. We have a mix of commercial, residential and leisure customers and around 170 moorings across the two sites.
Activities include helping maintain the marina infrastructure including pontoons - cleaning of facilities - maintaining buildings and grounds - booking customers in and out of the marina, answering calls and enquiries - Use of our IT systems including MS Office Suite - regular safety & compliance checks - helping improve our processes to meet targets.
We invest in training - All frontline staff are trained in emergency first aid, paid for by the company, from which you can benefit from. We have many online training courses aimed to support you as an employee in the role. There are opportunities to grow and move within the company as we acquire more marinas to our ever growing group.
This is a Full-Time role, five day a week, including weekend working and out of hours emergency cover on a rota basis - Work schedule - Tuesday to Saturday / Monday to Friday. You will need to live relatively close by Tring & Hemel Hempstead to fulfil your work commitments and you will need to be a car owner as travel between sites is expected during the day with the need to transport materials occassionally between sites.
**Responsibilities**:
To be successful you will need to:
- Complete safety checks diligently, complete compliance monitoring and deal with audits
- Provide quayside services to moorers and visitors: diesel, pump out etc.
- Process sales & payments, use of PDQ, manual and electronic paperwork for services.
- Proactively promote berths encouraging new customers to take up moorings within the Aquavista group and maintain existing customer relationships.
- Check and maintain stock levels of cleaning materials and needs of facilities.
- Carry out general site maintenance e.g. grass cutting and strimming, perimeter fence repairs, weed control, jetty/pontoon cleaning and repair, pathway maintenance, pressure washing and general maintenance projects.
- Assist the marina team with allocation of berths.
- Carry out checks - buildings and equipment.
- Carry out marina security duties including manning the marina mobile phone, outside normal working hours.
- Take individual responsibility for health and safety requirements on the marina.
- Cleaning building facilities and offices.
- Dealing with difficult customer interactions.
- Fault reporting to and dealing with contractors.

**Hours of work**:37.5 hours per week (5 out of 7 days)

**Experience**:
