Job description
We need an experienced kitchen assistant and waitress/waiter with Resturant/Cafe experience to join our team. Ideally you also have some Barista experience, but we can train you if you don’t.
You will be extremely good with customers, very warm, friendly and helpful at all times.
You will be quick and efficient and used to working rapidly when service is busy.
Your shifts will be set to Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays - 30-40 hours per week.
About Luckes Cafe-Bistro
We are a local Independent Bistro in North St Chichester set up 8 years ago but Mel Luckes -a Chef-Nutritionist.
We are all about creating delicious handmade food and drink, using as much local, seasonal and organic produce as possible with an emphasis on plant based food at the centre of everything, however we do serve meat and fish as well. 80% of our menu is gluten free.
We have a great following of loyal customers, some of whom come in daily. Customers order at the bar and are served their food and drinks at the table.
Our coffee is also very popular, renowned for being the best in Chi. It is made from a combination of top quality organic beans and organic milk from the Goodwood Estate, made on a top of the range La Marzocco Espresso Machine.
We also have a a very good selection of cold drinks and excellent quality wine.
As a family run business we are a close knit team which is a lovely environment to work in. We are open 7 days a week during the day and 2-3 evenings a week depending on the time of year.
About The Role
You will be confident in working in a kitchen supporting our chef helping cook breakfasts, reheating quiches and other foods, adding simple salad garnishes, or putting together salad bowls and heating soup. Ideally you can use a knife confidentiality and be able to chop vegetables quickly and learn to make some of our dishes.
You must be able to multi task rapidly, think quickly under pressure and have a good memory.
You will be fit and strong. This job is physically demanding and the Bistro is high paced at certain times.
You will be confident, outgoing and friendly and also be able to work front of house, serving customers in a professional manner face to face and on the telephone.
We aim to look after the needs of each and every customer with a warm, friendly smile and a can do attitude and you will be expected to be like this at all times during your shift.
You will also help decorate our handmade cake, sometimes make toasted sandwiches, make coffee, serve drinks, take orders on the till, serve food to tables, clear tables and clean and do a bit of washing up.
About You
You will be a confident, positive people person who is motivated, hard working and has lots of common sense. You will be a very friendly person, helpful towards customers and your co workers and enjoy working in a close knit team. You will be punctual, reliable and honest.
Expected start date: as soon as possible.
**Qualifications**
- ideally, but not critical - Barista experience understanding of coffee preparation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Skills in food preparation
- Excellent time management abilities to ensure efficient operations
- Strong customer service skills to enhance the dining experience
Pay: £12.50-£13.00 per hour
