Development Engineer

Our client is looking for a Development Engineer to join a small team in the end-to-end design and development process for engine components and systems. This is a work from home position, but you must be based in Peterborough, or able to travel to the office1-2 times per week. 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Component development within a small team, to introduce fuel systems components to a range of diesel engines
- Develop and optimise plans, gaining stakeholder approval
- Bench and engine testing within the clients R+D centre
- Investigate and resolve issues using 8D methodology
- Plan and communicate progress to stakeholders and management
- Collaborate with design engineers and suppliers to develop and refine projects
A good understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and component development with systems that contain fluid flow on engines is required, and knowledge of manufacturing principles and processes with electro-mechanic components.
About you:
You will have a strong technical background, and hold a bachelor's degree in Electronic/Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, although other relevant qualifications and experience will be considered. 5 years industry experience preferable.

Rate - £27-£34 per hour PAYE, DOE
