**About the opportunity**:
Jacobs Nuclear is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
Jacobs Nuclear provides the front end design and engineering capability across the PPP portfolio. Being part of the PPP Team offers a unique opportunity to drive change and innovation in engineering, safety and delivery solutions in one of the most complex industrial sites in the UK if not the world. We are looking for people who are passionate about developing themselves and in meeting new challenges.
We are looking for a Carbon Lead to join our team in Birchwood Park, Warrington.
**Role Profile**:
- Preparing and maintaining the Project’s Net Zero Plan
- Agree a Carbon Baseline using PAS 2080 carbon assessment methodology
- Agree a carbon reduction target, KPIs and monitoring plan with the Carbon Sponsor and Programme Sustainability Lead
- Engage with designers, commercial teams and key stakeholders
- Implement reporting programme to the Project and PPP SLT Executive Board and programme leadership with the SL Carbon Lead
- Raise challenges to the SL technical standard on opportunity restrictions
- Collate and report data on carbon emissions and opportunities for reductions as design and construction progress
- Select appropriate tools, technical standards and methodologies.
- Manage low-carbon workstreams with partner-organisations in the value chain
- Implement continual improvement through training delivery, review processes and engagement across the value chain
**Here’s What You’ll Need**:
- Relevant degree/ certification
- Knowledge of PAS2080
- Familiarity with RICS whole life carbon methodology
- Good understanding of design and construction management processes
