**CAREERS AND EMPLOYABILITY ADVISER**
**Reporting to Principal and Accessible to Vice-Principal (Academic) Vice-Principal (external and Managing Director**
This post is available immediately on a full-time, part-time basis or job share basis.
Increasingly, courses are now requiring students to undertake some kind of work-placement as part of their studies and an aspect of this work includes careers advise and support in seeking employment when they eventually qualify for their awards at the end of their course. To support this ongoing careers/employability work, ICON College wishes to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced individual to oversee and manage the detailed management of careers advice and employment development. The successful applicant must be highly organized, self-motivated and have the social and personal skills to be able to relate to a wide range of students, employers and the College’s administrative and academic staff.
JOB PURPOSE:
EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT:
The successful applicant will source, research and identify a wide range of employers likely to be interested in ICON College students, build and nurture relationships with employers willing to take short term placements/internships and liaise with other ICON College colleagues in order to comply with legal and company requirements. In addition, s/he will gather feedback from students and employers to improve processes.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- A good honours degree of qualifications/experienced of equal standing.
- Understanding of employability issues within a student-centred environment.
- People management experience.
- Ideally, experience of events management such as careers fairs.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Ability to negotiate and persuade.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Well developed analytical skills and a high degree of computer literacy, including familiarity with data bases and spreadsheets.
- Previous experience of areer and employability
- Knowledge of Management Information Systems and standard office packages.
- The ability to understand working in an academic environment so as to be able to build relationships with a wide range of people at all levels of the organization.
- Experience of working/negotiating with a range of employers.
- It would be desirable/an advantage to have previously worked in a careers support role.

**Salary**: £39,738.00-£40,927.00 per year
