West Fraser is a diversified wood products company with more than 60 facilities in Canada, the United States and Europe. Our North Devon site in South Molton manufactures and distributes assembled kitchen units to sites across the UK.

**Main Purpose of Position**:
To achieve the targeted loading and picking rates at the appropriate quality, at the appropriate time and in a safe and cost-effective manner. You will play an integral role in terms of supporting the Despatch Department by providing support to the Logistics Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the despatch process.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- In cooperation with the Logistics Manager, ensure that each individual has had the necessary training to allow them to carry out their assigned duties in a safe and effective manner.
- Organising, coordinating and supporting, as appropriate, staff under supervision.
- Setting high personal standards for motivating staff under supervision.
- Communication of safety information raised or highlighted daily.
- Ability to investigate, understand and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- To ensure all controlled documentation is accurately and consistently completed.
- Communication of Despatch targets to staff under supervision and maintaining Despatch standards.
- Visible leadership/commitment to the Stronger Together safety culture.
- Setting and maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
- Maintaining confidentiality in cooperation with the Logistics Manager in a consistent approach to discipline.
- Ensuring all activities within area of responsibility are completed in full compliance with all statutory regulations and site HS&E standards, policies and procedures.

- Hands-on individual with a positive ‘can-do’ approach to ensuring Despatch standards are achieved and maintained.
- Organised approach to work with good problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a consistently high level of performance.
- Despatch/logistics background with relevant experience.
- Approachable, knowledgeable, organised and patient.
- Good at working in a team environment.
- Good IT skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to review and edit controlled documents.
- Mobile equipment expertise including FLT and reach truck.
