The Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital is seeking a locum 8.75 PA ( 5.25 DCC + 1 SPA) consultant in Acute Paediatric medicine with additional 1.5 PA for expertise/ interest in Paediatric obesity. This is a new, part-time post created to support the new complications of excess weight (CEW) service. Jenny Lind children’s hospital was one of 15 children’s hospitals chosen to host this new specialized service. Previous experience with the patient group is not a pre-requisite for the role. Individuals who are interested in developing their skills in this area post CCT are encouraged to apply. The role will sit within a wider MDT which includes; a psychologist, dietician, physiotherapist, specialist nurse, social worker, family support worker and administrator.

The successful applicant will contribute to acute paediatrics the delivering ‘Consultant of the Week’ (CoW) service and on children’s assessment unit(CAU). In this they will join 22 other acute medical consultants to provide an integrated acute paediatric service in this busy teaching hospital. The post will not include neonatology.
