**The Opportunity**

We have the opportunity for you to join our team as a Packaging Technologist. You will be supporting the business with the development of new packaging from concept to launch for cooked meats, sausages and pates supplied to major retailers. It is important to us that we identify packaging that is not only functional, fit for purpose, commercially viable and also in line with the latest sustainability requirements. Some of the tasks that you can expect to be doing include:

- Develop new packaging in response to briefs
- Ensure packaging meets customer briefs, is functional and commercially viable
- Awareness of sustainability targets and innovation
- Evaluate packaging materials and designs through trials
- Manage approval of packaging against timeline
- Use Samworth NPD Gate Process internal systems to develop packaging
- Maintain packaging data base.

- Experience in a Packaging technologist role relating to food/ FMCG industry.
- Degree level or equivalent qualification in Packaging Technology or Food Science.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Problem solving skills
- Hardworking with an eye for detail
