**Overview**
**Duties**
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with their inquiries regarding eye care services.
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by taking preliminary measurements and recording medical histories.
- Assist optometrists during examinations by providing necessary instruments and materials.
- Maintain an organised inventory of optical products, ensuring that all items are well-stocked and displayed appropriately.
- Conduct basic laboratory tasks, such as lens edging and frame adjustments, under supervision.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and usage, as well as the benefits of various eyewear options.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the practice.
- Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, processing patient records, and managing billing inquiries.
**Qualifications**
- Knowledge of anatomy related to the eye is highly desirable.
- Experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new skills within the optical field.
This position requires enthusiasm for helping others and a willingness to develop professionally within the optical industry.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £25,812.80 per year
