An exciting opportunity has arisen for individuals to join our friendly and professional team within the Operating Theatre Department as a Lead Reception Support Worker. We cover a number of different specialities including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynae and Obstetrics, ENT, maxillofacial, Breast, Urology and Ophthalmic.

As part of their training package all post holders will be required to complete the care certificate and QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care which will enable them to meet the nationally recognised standards of competence.

Good communication skills are essential.

As part of the multidisciplinary team within the Operating Department the post holder will play a vital role in the day to day operation and smooth running of the department. Leading a small team of reception support workers. They will accomplish this with the provision of the highest possible standards of individualised patient care, transferring of patients between theatre reception and individual operating theatres and ensuring that patients’ privacy, comfort, and dignity is maintained whilst in the reception areas and that all documentation relating to theatres and care planning is completed and correct.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital is located in Calow, Chesterfield, which is situated on a green field site on the edge of the Peak District National Park. It is home to the Crooked Spire and is also close to Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham, thus offering numerous choices for recreational activities and lifestyles.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital was officially opened by the queen in 1985 and since then it has continued to expand and modernise, currently holding approximately 550 beds. We provide acute in-patient and out-patient care for Chesterfield and the surrounding rural area of North Derbyshire, serving a population of approximately 350,000 people.
