We are currently recruiting for a Security Officer to join our passionate and driven Security team based at our client’s site in Musselburgh

You will ensure the safety and security of the employees, visitors, and client’s property on the estate, by maintaining a good corporate image and high standards of professionalism.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To provide an efficient and effective Security Service for Servest customers, ensuring high standards are delivered and maintained.
- Ensure the effective monitoring of visitors and employees on-site, conducting random searches and assisting to maintain high levels of security on sites.
- Operate all systems within the Security Control Room in line with Security Operational Procedures, undertaking routine verification checks to confirm functionality and utilising various electronic systems to log faults, complete incident reports, control access etc.
- Be capable of leading, instructing and undertaking full incident management or shift handover in the absence of the Client
- Undertake routine patrols and CCTV monitoring to ensure all relevant University policies and procedures are implemented across the campus. This includes, but is not limited to, Parking Policy and effective traffic management, Health and Safety Policy, Fire Policy, etc.
- Through active operation and monitoring of all control room systems and undertaking of patrols, provide a crime prevention service, identifying possible hazards and weakness and reporting these to the Client.
- Control the issue, retention and receipt of all keys and radios ensuring adherence to Security Operational Procedures and maintain a key holding service for accommodation.
- Support the front of house reception service 24/7 by providing a customer centred approach.
- Be conversant and capable of operating in line with security strategies, policy and procedures, offering best practice examples where reasonable to improve service levels.
- Liaise with Emergency Services as required to support on campus incidents or routine tests, such as fire alarm tests and evacuations, carrying out first line investigations as required.
- Provide customer focused facilities support as requested by Client, including room resets, furniture moves, paper shredding, cardboard baling, etc.
- In cases of adverse weather and building closure, fulfil the criteria of essential staff and undertake reasonable tasks, such as gritting, to ensure continuation of services and safe site access.
- Undertake any other appropriate duties to fulfil the job objectives as directed by the Client or Manager

**About You**:

- SIA Door Supervisor License is essential.
- CCTV License is essential, Licence to be held, or prepared to be trained
- Experience working within a corporate security environment is desirable.
- High levels of professional Integrity.
- Previous experience with two-way radios & telephone equipment essential.
- Basic IT and Microsoft Office skills are essential.
- Dealing with members of the public and working within a customer-focused environment is essential.
- First aid trained desirable
- SIA Door Supervisor License is essential.
- CCTV License is essential, Licence to be held, or prepared to be trained
