Warehouse Operative

**Job description**

A general Warehouse Operative is needed for an immediate start: 12 month contract including a probationary period of 3 months with possible move to permanent contract after 12 months. Monday to Friday 8.30 am - 5.30 pm and occasional Saturday mornings.

You will be trained to cover all areas of the Warehouse including goods in, returns, stores, packing and dispatch. **Responsibilities**

You will need to:

- coordinate and monitor the receipt and dispatch of goods
- use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure environmental objectives are met
- have a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
- coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary
- to be physically fit and able to lift 8kg (17.6 lbs)
- keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
- motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the team to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
- Attend and contribute to team briefs on a daily basis
- maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely
- Goods in duties, including receiving goods, checking the accuracy and quality of all goods, making sure all stock is labelled and stored correctly.
- Goods out duties, including picking, ensuring the correct parts, labels, invoicing, and packing.
- Locating stock.
- Assisting with loading and unloading.
- Compliance with health and safety.
- Working to company policies and procedures.
- Keeping the area of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency.

**Working hours**

Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:30 and the occasional Saturday 07:00 - 13:00 as required

**Work experience**

Experience of working in a team and dealing with people in a warehouse setting is preferred, along with having a current forklift licence is also desired, although full training will be given.
