An opportunity has arisen for two responsible and competent individuals to support us in the role of Team Leader. The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for the management and performance of a designated work area to ensure quality standards and targets are met, and orders are completed on time in full. You will ensure that the teams within your area of responsibility are adequately trained on production procedures, working practices and company policies as well as reinforcing health and safety standards.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Effective planning of work area(s) to ensure the weekly order plan is met on time in full
- Responding to arising changes in demand e.g. labour, increases in output and taking necessary actions
- Driving KPI’s and performance management targets within the production cell. Identify improvement opportunities and motivate others to achieve and exceed targets in accordance with SQDCP.
- Leading structured meetings, communications sessions and maintaining visual communication boards.
- Ensuring the appropriate supply of parts and flow of process.
- Managing personnel related such as absence, conduct, capability and performance.
- Identifying training needs, train and coach team members against standard work instructions and processes to support cross-functional working and aid development.
- Provides formal and informal feedback on an ongoing basis to manage performance effectively.
- Actively promotes a safety culture and takes responsibility for staff safety and wellbeing.
- Ensuring facilities and equipment are qualified, calibrated and maintained
- Collecting and providing accurate and meaningful data to enable continuous improvement, supporting on projects when required.
- Encouraging direct reports to challenge existing processes and implementing solutions that enhance the overall effectiveness of the production systems/processes

**Our perfect Team Leader would have**:

- A mechanical, electronics/electrical, production or manufacturing engineering background is essential, ideally with experience of leading a team.
- Excellent judgement skills with the ability to reach informed decisions
- A passion for coaching others; takes responsibility for own actions and learns from mistakes
- A collaborative approach to team working; is passionate about engaging with staff
- A pro-active, and hands on approach with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
- A self-managed and focussed approach; seeks opportunities to develop
- A structured approach to problem solving; is confident to make decisions
- High standards and demonstrates SEM’s values through personal examples
- Experience in developing and delivering against KPI’s
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- The ability to handle multiple tasks in a results-oriented
