**Senior Design Engineer** required to join a well-established company based in Woking on a permanent basis.
Our client is an automotive luxury brand, with a global reputation for producing luxury performance vehicles. Working with some of the most iconic designs using modern engineering this company is one of a kind and their attention to detail is second to none.
The **Senior Design Engineer** will join an existing Team to provide concept packaging, production drawings and detailed design solutions to meet the Vehicle Engineering requirements and project timing.
**Key responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer:
Produce component packaging and concept studies including compatibility with up to date styling direction
Reconcile manufacturing and assembly feasibility with aerodynamics, styling, component, or system specifications
Stand-alone mechanical system design projects to fulfil specific future engineering or commercial requirements
Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, cost and weight
Checking content of designs for release against the specification, CAD geometry and resolution of digital build concerns prior to sign-off
Support activities for weight-down, cost-down, build concern resolution and process-improvement.
Providing support for prototype design and development
Design, Packaging and detailing from prototype to production across Chassis, Powertrain, Interior, Electrical, Body in White and Body systems
**The ideal Senior Design Engineer:
Experience within the automotive industry or similar domain experience
Catia V5 experience
Experience within Chassis, Powertrain, Interior, Electrical, Body in White or Body systems
Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant electrical qualifications with 5 years’ electrical design experience.
Experience of concept design packaging
Experience of prototype design and development
Experience within sports / hyper car would be beneficial
