- **Role Overview**_

Due to the continued success and growth of our Asset Management Services division, we currently have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Officer.

As a health and safety officer, you will use your knowledge and skills to promote a positive health and safety culture within the workplace. You will ensure company employees and subcontractor workers fully comply with safety legislation, health and safety policy, ensuring industry good practices are adopted and adhered to.
- **What you'll do**_

The following reflect the main tasks associated with the position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

- Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation.
- Assist the HSEQ Manager review and maintain the company Integrated Management System (IMS), accredited to ISO45001, 9001 and 14001
- Carry out regular site-based health, safety & environmental audits and producing reports
- Carry out internal audits to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
- Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements
- Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced
- Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards
- Ensure all work equipment is installed and used safely by competent persons
- All hazardous substances are clearly identified, ensuring safe controls led, used by competent persons and disposed of safely
- Assist in the preparation of health and safety strategies and develop internal policies and procedures
- Participate in health and safety meetings
- Assist with accident investigation, record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers
- Keep up to date with new Health and Safety Legislation and any developments that affect the business
- Maintain a working knowledge of H&S Regulations applicable to the construction industry
- Produce management reports, newsletters and bulletins
- Attend Construction Industry and Client’s Continual Improvement Group (CIG) forums, seminars and read professional journals
- Other duties as may be required from time to time depending on the needs of the business
- **What you'll bring**_

As a Health & Safety Officer your main skills and experience will include:

- Essential Criteria_
- Demonstratable experience working in the Construction or Facilities Management industry
- Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK) by the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH)
- Demonstratable knowledge and experience developing and reviewing workplace risk assessments and method statements
- Demonstratable experience undertaking regular site health, safety & environmental audits and producing reports
- Demonstratable knowledge and experience of health & safety generalist skills
- Excellent IT skills that include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
- Possess a full valid driving licence
- Desirable Criteria_
- The National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety - delivered by the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH)
- Membership of appropriate accredited industry body, e.g., IOSH (Technical or Grad IOSH)
- Experience in ISO14001 (Environmental and Sustainable Management), focusing on waste duty of care, lifecycle of materials and energy conservation
- Able in training individuals on Health and Safety matters on a one to one and team basis with the use of Microsoft Power Point or hands on;
- The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and as an individual;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
