We have an exciting opportunity for an In-House Lawyer to join us at Hastings Direct.

This role is based at our headquarters in Bexhill. You will be working in a hybrid working model with requirements to go into the office once a week for team meetings.

**About the role**

You will be supporting the Chief Legal Officer in all areas of the Group Legal department's duties and responsibilities. You will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and advising on contractual and other legal issues connected with all areas of thebusiness, with a focus on data, IT, claims services, and outsourced services.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Supporting the Chief Legal Officer to effectively deliver legal services to the Group.
- Developing a good understanding of the business and key stakeholders contacts.
- Providing accurate and timely advice to the business on a variety of legal areas.
- Drafting, amending, advising and negotiating on a variety of bespoke and standard form commercial contracts including data and software.
- Understanding, interpreting and advising contract owners on the implications of contract terms and developing the awareness of contract terms and obligations within the business including by the delivery of training.
- Review, advise and amend insurance policy terms and online customer journey changes taking into account the requirements under UCTA for B2C contracts.
- Reviewing and amending Terms of Business Agreements with insurance partners and ancillary product suppliers.
