**About the Role**
The role of licensing officer sits within the County Attendance Team and is integral to ensuring that children who perform, those that are in employment either voluntary or paid, and chaperones to children who perform, are licensed accordingly.
As part of the County Attendance Team, you will work with a strong supportive team who ensure access to education advocating on behalf of the child and families.
Officers have responsibilities for School Attendance, Children Missing Education and Elective Home Education working within statutory frameworks.
You will process and issue all licences on behalf of the Local Authority pertaining to Child performances. Ensuring that all steps are taken to safeguard children and young people and raise any concerns directly to the Education Inclusion Manager.
The role sits with the Business Support Officers for the team who you will work alongside and support if required.
This is a bespoke role requiring high attention to detail and some knowledge of Child Performance licensing would be advantageous.
Further responsibilities include:
- Work with all professionals/multi-agencies to identify those children at risk of harm through gathering and sharing information in line with Child Protection procedures and GDPR.
- Process and issue all Work permits on behalf of the Local Authority pertaining to Child Employment. Ensuring that all steps are taken to safeguard young people and that licenses are only issued within relevant legal framework and within the Oxfordshire County Council bylaws.
- Support the completion of Child performance inspections with the Education Inclusion Manager/Officers from the County Attendance Team
- Mainatain accurate records of all licences issued on behalf of the Local Authority, mindful of GDPR.
- Maintain a current knowledge and awareness of legislation, policy, procedure and practice in the field of chid entertainment and employment.
