This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to clinically Lead the Integrated Therapy stroke and older persons rehab team at Redcar Primary Care Hospital (RPCH), Zetland Ward as well as the community Stroke ESD team in Tees.

You would joining a very integrated working therapy team who work across traditional professional boundaries for the benefit of their patients and recently won an AHP award for best team.

In addition to being the Team Lead for OTs, Physios and Therapy assistants on a day to day basis, the post holder will provide clinical support where needed on the ward and out in the community. The post holder will work closely and collaboratively with other clinical Therapy and nursing team Leads across the pathways between health and social care.

As a Band 7 Occupational Therapist within the Trust the postholder will also be part of the wider Integrated OT service.

This is a unique partnership between Health and Social care in South Tees with a commitment to working together, improving the quality of our services and getting rid of existing barriers between health and Local Authority.

The post holder will be expected to have leadership experience as well as substantial clinical experience in stroke or older peoples medicine. There is an expectation of having gained clinical experience across a variety of specialities with relevant post graduate study.

The Community Therapy and Stroke teams are both well-established large, progressive and dynamic services, which continue to develop within the Trust. The team is friendly and supportive and mentorship for this role will be available from other clinicians, the Therapy Service Lead, and the clinical lead for stroke and rehab.

This post offers development in clinical and leadership skills and the post holder will be supported to attend relevant post graduate courses. We have an established and comprehensive training programme and our staff are encouraged and supported in their CPD through workshops, clinical supervision and the appraisal process. There is also an expectation to actively participate in audit and research and the Hospital has close links with both the University of Teesside and Durham University.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme, and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:

- Explore leadership within the NHS
- Promote Trust Values and Behaviours
- Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills
- Practitioner level in quality improvement, equipping you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities; we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
