The Lyme Trust is a registered charity that was established in 1974 in Newcastle-Under-Lyme. We provide safe, supported accommodation and life skills to people with mild to moderate mental health conditions with the aims of a return to independent livingand the prevention of homelessness.
We’re looking for a talented finance professional to manage the financial processes of the charity and to present management information to our Finance sub-committee monthly, including the CEO, Chairman and Treasurer. You’ll receive in-house support fromour experienced CEO and our ACA-qualified Treasurer.
**Key Responsibilities and Duties**
- Responsibility for all financial processes at the Lyme Trust and direct reporting to the CEO
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and annual budgets for the Finance sub-committee
- Balance sheet control and reconciliations
- Managing the completion of our annual external audit
- Ensuring policies and procedures are followed for the management of finances
- Manage the charity’s expenses with regular cost reviews
- Preparation and submission of payroll and supplier payments
- Line management of the Finance Assistant
**Essential qualities and skills**
- AAT qualified or equivalent
- Experience in managing the finance function for another organisation
- Knowledge in any accounting system, including experience in using them
- Strong leadership and management capabilities
- Strong numerical aptitude
- An organised approach to work with effective prioritisation of tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
**Desirable qualities and skills**
- Experience in Sage 50c accounts and Sage 50 payroll
- Experience in a charity or other not-for-profit organisation
**Salary and benefits**
Any salary offered to you as part of your package will depend on your industry experience and/or qualifications.
Holidays: 20 days per annum plus bank holidays
