TEC Partners are working with a Cambridge-based start-up company that is working towards revolutionising gene synthesis by developing a novel desktop DNA synthesis platform. Using semiconductor technology, the new process is set to fulfil the demands ofsynthetic biology by producing DNA with unprecedented accuracy, scale, and speed.

Being highly interdisciplinary, the company is proud to have talented scientists, engineers, biologists, physicists and chemists working on the common goal. They have ambitious goals for the future where the next generation of DNA synthesis will tackle challengesin healthcare, industrial chemistry, pandemics, and global data storage.

They are looking for a Technical Project Manager to get involved with complex projects in both R&D and product development areas. The ideal person would be passionate about leading the team to succeed within agreed timelines and budget constraints, whilemonitoring and tackling technical challenges.

**Essential skills and experience**:

- Degree in engineering or equivalent, with industrial experience leading and planning technical projects, and tracking the progress of a team
- Experience working directly with technical teams of engineers or scientists
- Experience documenting technical system requirements
- Strong time management, organisation, and communication skills
- Quality management system experience, e.g. ISO 13485
- Experience conducting technical risk management

**Desirable experience**
- Background in life sciences, scientific instrument design, semiconductors, or similar field
- Working knowledge of project management tools and methodologies, such as lean, agile, waterfall, APF
- Good working knowledge of systems engineering tools and techniques
