**Category Manager**
The role of Category Manager is as a commercially focussed Brand Manager with responsibility for the overall performance of products in the marketplace (akin to a Sales Manager responsible for the performance of their channel), to increase market share andsales. You will combine the marketing communication skill of a Brand Manager with the commercial acumen of a Product Manager. Each Category Manager has responsibility for the overall performance of products in the marketplace - you will direct all marketingactivity including product launches and ongoing communications, managing budgets and price positioning, and working closely with your counterpart Category Managers in the Weleda Global Marketing team.
Working across the Weleda marketing, supply chain and trade marketing / sales teams, you are responsible for the creation and delivery of the Marketing Brand Plan for a defined area of the business. This will include identifying the consumer goal through BBTWW(Brand Building the Weleda Way); monitoring progress against targets (sales value and volume); creating, communicating, and delivering the Brand plan; evaluating campaign effectiveness; reporting on margin and sales trends; managing the launch of NPD includingforecasting, price positioning, competitor analysis, and ultimately becoming the expert across the business internally and externally for your products. You will work closely with Global Marketing and will have budget responsibility effectively co-ordinatingall Weleda marketing communications for your category.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Be the responsible, ‘expert go-to person’ for your area.
- Understanding the market - distribution, competitors, pricing, consumer profile, etc.
- Work with the Marketing team on ‘Brand Building the Weleda Way’ to develop long term plans for the success of your products, and create annual category marketing strategy and plan
- Implementing/co-ordinating all marketing activity to grow awareness and sales of the category; including PR, advertising, digital and social media campaigns, sampling, events, etc.
- Work with the Trade Marketing team to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities; create marketing collateral; supporting with Weleda category content for retail; keeping them informed on activity regularly
- Conducting consumer research and analysing industry insights to inform marketing strategy
- Devising long-term development strategies for product categories, including exit strategies
- NPD launches, volume projections with SCM, packaging text and claim verification, lifecycle product management such as reducing pack stocks and eliminating stock destruction, pricing and overall promotion of Weleda to maximise appeal
- Development of all category creative assets including advertising, POS, etc.
- Monthly analysis of product and category performance, and presenting this to the commercial team
- Tracking KPIs of projects and campaigns for internal communication and learning
- Represent Weleda UK at Global level and interface with international category managers on all aspects of NPD
- Represent the EN language cluster for input into product text on packaging
- Own the Marketing return on investment (ROI) analysis on the category portfolio and ensure budget optimisation
- Collaborate with sales colleagues to actively engage key retailers and distributors, gaining product buy in
- Support wider Weleda brand marketing activity to communicate brand values and ethics across all key channels and stakeholders
**Your Profile**
You will have proven experience in marketing (3+ years), with the ability to manage all aspects of brand marketing - PR, social, digital, advertising, events, etc. You will also have an up-to-date understanding of category marketing strategy, recent campaignsand best practice. A problem solver with a curiosity for data, you will be able to number crunch and present data effectively.
We are looking for someone who is an experienced and enthusiastic specialist in marketing; with a strong track record of growing brand awareness and driving sales, along with knowledge of sales operations and processes. You will be an excellent communicatorand will be a natural at presentations. Good listening skills are essential, as you must be able to respond to results and consumer research. You will have good analytical skills, working with high attention to detail and accuracy, with hands-on experienceinterpreting big data and making forecasts.
You will be a resilient individual, able to pick things up quickly, working to tight deadline and under pressure. Ideally you will be qualified to degree level or equivalent and will be proficient in the use of MS Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

Please note: this is a hybrid-working role, with a requirement to work 2-3 days per week in the office

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week
